Real spring Finally

The only other people I saw this evening while out for a run in the arb were two college age guys.
It was a beautiful evening.
I really expected to see more people.

But I did see one real harbinger of spring.

Trout lilies are starting to bloom.

Making Lemonade from Lemons

We ended up with 8 inches this morning.

Just had to go for a quick ski before work.
With any luck, never again on May 2...

Amazing! Spring!

Temps in the 70s today.
Finally!

After errands and chores were finished, I had some spinning time on the deck.

One of my chores today was giving the little dog his spring haircut.

Note the wire basket full of dog fur.  I'm hoping the birds will carry some away.

Get 'em at the source

He's waiting for the birds of spring to start their search for building materials.

It never ends...

Six inches of snow this morning.
Northfield schools were closed.
Not just a late start, but closed.
On April 23.

I had to get the skis out for one last cruise before work.  With any luck, it'll be the only time I can say I skied in Minnesota on April 23.

Spring

36˚ today.
That's warm enough to sit on the deck and enjoy an adult beverage after work, right?

It's spring, dammit!

Silent Auction

Every year, we have a silent auction at my hospital to benefit the local food shelf.  Last year I got a really sweet deal on a years worth of free range organic eggs, delivered right to my desk once a week.  Awesome.

I usually contribute a baby sweater.

This year, I've got a couple of different items.

A little pair of tiger baby socks.

A pair of Hippocampus mittens (my third pair - these are so much fun!)

In other news, spring has finally arrived in Northfield!  We still have piles of snow in the yard, but it reached 55 degrees today.

Paul joined me for a run, then we sat on the deck for our cool down.  Yup, he's wearing shorts on the 14th of March!  It's spring, I say, SPRING!

The 20th of April in southern Minnesota.

Ice on the lakes.

Spring wildflowers.

The ice, floating on the waves, tinkled like wind chimes.
