Pileated woodpecker

We knew this big ol' woodpecker was around, but could never lay eyes on him.

    Very Cool! Nice photo, too. I haven't seen one like that down here. Has this guy ever gone to town on your gutters? We had one do so in SF and it sounded like a machine gun!
